Internet is all pervasive these days. In the initial stages of the career when one is jittery and not sure where to start! All pervasive internets provide a great helping hand. It helps us by connecting to various career portals. These portals provide professional advice in a friendly manner. Let’s take a look at all that these portals have to offer to their visitors. Best way to explain these services is to visit a portal and see what it offers. So I will visit a portal. I won’t name it. One by one I will try to explain its services.
So start my computer, as the computer starts the internet connection becomes active. I initiate a search for the word career. Within second there are thousands of results have been flashed at me. What to do? I choose one. A site opens and I try to dissect it for its services.

Of these careers I choose the travel agent career for description. Description is provided under five headings. Namely

By definition travel agent is one who provides all the travel related services to the client. He is able to provide those services because as a professional he has access to quite a lot of information related to travel. Under the details of occupation it is explained that basically, what travel agent is doing.
He is acting as a middle man between business people and client that is traveler. Because of the complex business process his professional help proves helpful to the client. Service of the travel agent is detail oriented and needs coordination at many levels. As the travel industry is highly computerized, he has to be computer literate.
Because the job of a travel agent involves lot of public dealing, person with extrovert personality is well suited to the job. Patience and politeness are necessary qualities. Person should have knowledge of travel related places and should be able to suggest ideas to the client. Place of work can be any travel agency or you can start your own agency.
